Partial views render reusable fragments—menus, carts, comments. They can be strongly typed or receive data via ViewData and ViewBag.
Prefer explicit view models over magic strings for maintainability.
Implementation
Create a partial _Cart.cshtml with @model CartViewModel. From a parent view: @Html.Partial("_Cart", Model.Cart) or @await Html.PartialAsync. In ASP.NET Core use <partial name="_Cart" model="Model.Cart" />.
Child actions (legacy) or View Components (Core) fetch data server-side when the parent lacks the model.
